Mission Statement
Save The Children India is not for profit organisation founded in the year 1988. The organisation envisions India as a Child-Friendly Nation and is committed to preventing exploitation and all other forms of discrimination of vulnerable women and children, and empowering them to lead a life of dignity, self-respect, and independence. It actualizes this by building relationships with the children, women and communities and providing holistic development opportunities through education, women empowerment, and health and livelihood programs.
About This Cause
* Save The Children India is an Independent Indian Organisation and not part of Save The Children International Alliance. Save The Children India specializes in working with the most deprived and vulnerable sections of children & women in poor urban, peri-urban and rural communities at risk and has a very strong gender & child protection perspective. The organisation offers its services for both direct program implementation and capacity building of its local partners for program implementation. Since its inception in 1988, every program of Save The Children India is designed based on the needs emerging from the field identified through a needs assessment survey & consultations with key stakeholders. The programs are implemented directly by Save The Children India as well as by forming collaborative networks with grass root level NGOs & CBOs for wider reach out. Save The Children India’s developmental activities are essentially concentrated in Maharashtra and Delhi, with its headquarters in Mumbai. The operational area of Save Our Sisters- anti human trafficking program is spread across entire state of Maharashtra. It has also initiated and influenced varied policy level changes that are impacting the State and the country.
