Mission Statement
At Satu Persen Indonesia Foundation, we believe that true change begins with small, consistent actions. Our mission is to empower individuals and communities to achieve lasting transformation—one percent at a time. Rooted in the cultural and spiritual wisdom of Indonesia, our foundation envisions a future where education, compassion, and sustainability are accessible to all, regardless of social or economic status. What Drives Us Indonesia is a nation rich in diversity and heritage but still faces profound social, economic, and environmental challenges. From urban poverty and digital illiteracy to the erosion of indigenous traditions and ecological degradation—our mission arises from these interconnected struggles. We seek to address them holistically, with humility, precision, and a commitment to sustainability. We are driven by the conviction that even one percent of thoughtful effort, when done together, can create ripple effects that transform lives, uplift entire communities, and preserve the soul of a nation. Our Core Mission 1. To Promote Inclusive Education We support formal and non-formal education that integrates academic learning with cultural values and local wisdom. From early childhood education to adult digital literacy workshops, our goal is to build resilient, critical, and compassionate learners. 2. To Preserve and Document Cultural Heritage We work tirelessly to safeguard the disappearing treasures of Indonesia’s ancestral knowledge—such as Buhun sciences, traditional healing practices, local astronomy, and sustainable agriculture rooted in indigenous methods. Through festivals, archives, and education, we ensure that these legacies are passed down and evolve with time. 3. To Serve the Marginalized and Vulnerable Compassion is the beating heart of our foundation. We provide food, shelter, medical assistance, and vocational training for those who need it most—orphans, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and families affected by disaster or displacement. Every initiative we run begins with human dignity in mind. 4. To Advance Environmental Sustainability Through reforestation, anti-plastic campaigns, and water conservation efforts, we equip communities to become environmental stewards. Our ecological education projects connect youth and families to the land in culturally relevant ways, reinforcing both tradition and responsibility. 5. To Foster Spiritual and Ethical Growth We uphold the spiritual values of harmony, gratitude, and collective well-being. Though non-denominational, we collaborate with local religious leaders and educators to nurture spiritual literacy, respect for all faiths, and peacebuilding efforts. 6. To Empower with Technology We recognize the digital divide as a modern form of inequality. Our mission includes helping communities—especially youth and women—gain access to digital tools, tech skills, and online entrepreneurship opportunities that can lift them out of poverty. Our Guiding Principles • One Percent at a Time: We believe that meaningful progress starts with modest, incremental change. • Cultural Wisdom, Modern Tools: We blend ancestral knowledge with innovative solutions for the modern world. • No One Left Behind: All our programs are designed to be inclusive and empowering, especially for those in rural or underserved areas. • Integrity and Accountability: We maintain full transparency in our operations, fund allocation, and program impact. • Community First: We listen to the people we serve and let their insights shape our actions. Our Vision for the Future We envision an Indonesia where: • Children grow up not only educated, but also proud of their cultural identity • Farmers plant seeds using both ancestral calendars and modern climate data • Disadvantaged women become tech-savvy entrepreneurs • Communities heal from trauma through art, faith, and mutual aid • Nature is revered not as a resource, but as a sacred partner And at the center of this transformation is a simple, yet powerful idea: change begins with one percent—a little time, a little care, a little wisdom—given consistently, given together.
