Mission Statement
PR Yakkum is national NGO working for disability issue based in Yogyakarta Indonesia. For more than 35 years, it has been working to facilitate more than 15,000 persons with disabilities accross Indonesia through various programs using community based rehabiliation approach and disability inclusive development principles as main strategy. Yakkum is working in collaboration with more than 80 DPOs, government in village till national level, development agencies small and big. Around 40% of PR Yakkum employees are persons with disabilities (including in the management level) so it is not only talking about inclusion but it is an inclusive organization.
About This Cause
PR Yakkum is national NGO working for disability issue based in Yogyakarta Indonesia. For more than 35 years, it has been working to facilitate more than 15,000 persons with disabilities accross Indonesia through various programs using community based rehabiliation approach and disability inclusive development principles as main strategy. Yakkum is working in collaboration with more than 80 DPOs (disable people organizations), various government bodies in the village till national level, development agencies small and big. In total we manage around 800,000 USD donation a year. Around 40% of total number of PR Yakkum employees (80 staffs) are persons with disabilities (including in the management level) so it is not only talking about inclusion but it is an inclusive organization. Our supporters or donors are varied from development agencies such as CBM, Ford Foundation, USAID, DFAT, government of Indonesia such as social affair and health offices as well as churches based organizations and private. Nevertheless, YAKKUM is committed and obliged to the Humanitarian Principles in which our assistance is extended to the vulrnerable groups regardless race, religions and sexual orientation. Our annual financial account is audited externally. We are active in various advocacy network locally, nationally and globally for promoting the protection of rights of persons with disabilities
