About This Cause
Wicklow SPCA is a non for profit animal rescue based outside Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow. Eire. Founded in 1910 we cater for up to 100 animal at any one time. Our Inspector follows up on reports of animal cruelty and neglect and we rescue, rehabilitate, rehome unwanted animals. Our adoption procedure involves neutering, vaccinations and microchipping and we homecheck potential new owners before adoption. A member of staff doubles up as our Educational officer and visits schools and interested parties and speaks on issues of animal welfare. We are also open for tours of the shelter. We are small in numbers but big in heart and it never ceases to amaze us how a once neglected or cruelty treated animal can react to kindness and care. We run a low cost veterinary clinic once a month where members of the public can have their animal vet checked and other services are available at a reduced rate.
