West Cork Animal Welfare Group

Co. Cork, Munster, Ireland

Mission Statement

Our aim is to promote and encourage the welfare and protection of animals.

About This Cause

West Cork Animal Welfare Group was founded in 1999 in response to a desperate need to help unwanted, abandoned, neglected and abused animals in West Cork. We have facilities at our rescue centre for 50 dogs and puppies and a small number of cats and kittens. Most of our cats/kittens are looked after by foster carers until permanent homes can be found. We have a non-destruction policy and no animal is euthanized unless incurably sick, so all the dogs/pups that come to our rescue stay in our care until forever homes are found for them. We rehome approx. 360 dogs/pups a year and 50 cats/kittens. All our dogs/pups are wormed, vaccinated and microchipped before rehoming and dogs over 6 months old are neutered. All cats/kittens are wormed, vaccinated and neutered before rehoming.
