Mission Statement

Dogs Trust is Ireland's largest dog welfare charity. We established our Dublin rehoming centre in November 2009. Our mission is to bring about the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction. We are reliant on voluntary donations to continue our work as we receive no government funding.

About This Cause

Imagine Ireland where all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction. This vision drives the work of Dogs Trust, Ireland's leading dog welfare charity. We are absolutely determined to stop healthy dogs being put to sleep in Ireland, and we will never destroy a healthy dog in our care. As the largest dog welfare charity in Ireland, we play a major role in dog welfare issues by rehoming stray and abandoned dogs. Our aim is to solve the problem of why there are so many unwanted dogs in Ireland and we will achieve this by raising the profile of dogs, promoting dog welfare and encouraging responsible dog ownership. What we do in a nutshell… Each day we care for 170+ dogs at our rehoming centres in Dublin, Ireland. We run subsidised neutering campaigns Our Education Officers teach 46,000 children in Ireland about responsible dog ownership and staying safe around dogs. Free teaching resources are made available to all schools/ We advise government on matters concerning dog ownership. We are reliant on voluntary donations to continue our work.
