Funds raised through the Mercy University Hospital Foundation are used to purchase state-of-the-art equipment, to enhance and develop services and to help Hospital staff in providing a world-class service in a world-class hospital.

About This Cause

Our Mission The Mercy Hospital Foundation raises awareness and funds for the Mercy Hospital. Our mission is to support the hospital in delivering the highest quality of care to its patients. Our Promise We promise to support advancements and innovation in the treatment and care of patients at The Mercy Hospital, the People's Hospital. Our Values Respect - for donors Excellence - through ethical fundraising Compassion - understanding our donors needs Stewardship - responsible investment in and use of fundraised income Partnership - with all staff and the wider community Our Work Cancer Appeal - In our small country, 30,000 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed by the end of this year. For those people in Munster diagnosed with cancer, The Mercy will be at the forefront of diagnosis, research, treatment and care. We will be Leading the Fight Against Cancer. Through our Cancer Appeal, by using your donations, we will be able to fund projects that will improve outcomes and experiences for patients and their families on their cancer journeys. Psycho-Oncology Psycho-Oncology Thanks to our wonderful donors MUH is now one of 4 hospitals in Ireland offering this service. Our new Psycho-Oncology service is fully funded through donations and provides psychological support to patients with cancer experiencing emotions like anxiety, depression, distress and anger. In 2022 we saw over 300 patients use our Psycho-Oncology services between April and December. In order to expand this service in 2024 and to be able to help even more people we will need to raise more funds with your help.
