Mission Statement

We work with children and adolescents with autism to give them an opportunity to reach their full potential.

About This Cause

The Irish Progressive Association for Autism Co Ltd is a not for profit limited company, voluntary body and registered charity that operates the Shine Centre for Autism in Co Cork, Ireland. The organisation was established in 2001 and we work with children, adolescents and their families to support their development and allow them to reach their full potential. We work with approximately 80- 100 from the greater Cork City area children at any given time and provide a range of services and programmes for our clients, parents, educators and other professionals working in the area of autism. We are committed to "putting the child at the centre of every decision we make" and this commitment and ethos of "brightening the future for all of our children" has underpinned the organisation and the work that we do since the organisation was established. We have a fully voluntary Board of Directors who are predominantly the parents of children with autism and none of our Directors claim fees or expenses for their time. The Shine Centre is vital in the lives of so many of our children and families as they deal with challenges that autism presents them with every day.
