Mission Statement
Our mission is to tackle suicide head on right in our communities. Our volunteers travel to the location of the person in distress and attempt to intervene safely. We believe in working with families and friends of those in distress and we believe that suicide can be prevented with the right support networks in place. We work hard with families, friends, individuals and other services to try and create a holistic, person-centered approach to suicide prevention.
About This Cause
Our trained volunteers travel to people in suicidal distress 365 nights of the year. When mainstream services close their doors at 5pm we at Community Crisis Response Team open ours. We offer physical support within our reach as well as phone support to people in distress and their families all across Ireland. We also deliver certified suicide intervention skills training to community leaders, businesses, schools, youth clubs, sports clubs etc in order to build suicide safer communities from the ground up. We are not in receipt of any continuous government funding and so our work relies heavily on the kindness and support of individuals, communities and organisations.
