Our vision is that all young people will live in an equal, inclusive society. Where they feel connected to and are part of their own community. Young people have control of their own lives, own their own destinies and reach their full potential.
About This Cause
SWAN Youth Service is a regional youth service based in North Inner City Dublin. We work with young people aged 10-24 years. We work from a model of critical social education, engaging young people in processes to critically evaluate their own experiences and wider social norms, and to understand the structural inequalities impacting them. Working together we find ways to make young people’s voices heard. We respond to issues impacting on young people through engaging them through detached youth work on the street or in a range of educational programmes including music, digital media and arts programmes, sexual health, gender issues, anti-bullying, anti-racism and intercultural programmes, STEAM work, communication skills, social analytical development, arts and crafts, cooking, mental health and well-being and physical health. We also provide crime prevention and rehabilitation programs through our Garda Youth Diversion team .Furthermore, our Youth Employment Team, support young people within work ready programs, and return to education programs. Swan engages over 800-1,000 young people every year, within all our services.
