Mission Statement
Scouting Ireland. The Aim of Scouting Ireland is to encourage the physical, intellectual, character, emotional, social, and spiritual development of young people so that they may achieve their full potential and, as responsible citizens, to improve society.
About This Cause
This means we hold weekly meetings in our den in Croydon Gardens, where our youth members learn and teach new skills and plan future activities and events. Outside of our weekly meetings of each section, our program involves outdoor adventures and challenges including, camping, hillwalking, backwoods, pioneering paddling, sailing, rowing, climbing, air activities and dealing with emergencies and others. Through our program we achieve the Scouting aims and have fun. While enjoying the outdoors our youth members make strong friendships, volunteer in their community, learn adventure skills, travel, become leaders and team members, and appreciate the importance of our outdoor environment. Our outdoor events can range from overnights to weekends to longer trips. We visit many locations on the island of Ireland and the UK. The older sections of Scout, Ventures and Rovers travel further afield to many different countries.
