About This Cause
The beneficiary of the programme is Terence MacSwiney Community College, which is a co-educational community college located on Cork's northside. The school faces many challenges, including inter-generational poverty, unemployment, lack of motivation and early school leaving in it's school population. A number of children are in the care of the State and the school provides a vital role in supporting and providing for these students. The experience of homelessness has increase in our student body and due to reduced budgets the school finds it very difficult to provide for the care needs of the students. Contributions from parents to the educational costs of their children are virtually non-existent
