Mission Statement
West Cork Rapid Response (WCRR) is a totally voluntary group aiming to assist the existing emergency services with serious medical and trauma calls. Due to the vast expanse of the Cork region it's not always possible to have a fast response time from existing services so we have created a group of Doctors and emergency service personnel who voluntarily attend calls in their area which greatly reduces response time and provides great support to attending services! We work on a 100% voluntary basis and rely on community fund raising to purchase equipment and meet general running costs.
About This Cause
West Cork Rapid Response (WCRR) is an entirely voluntary group working in partnership with and supporting the existing HSE Emergency Medical services. Our Rapid Response Vehicle and volunteers are declared National Ambulance Service assets based in and serving all of West Cork. Out team of Prehospital Emergency Medicine Physicians and Advanced Paramedics voluntarily support their community by responding to life and limb threatening emergencies at the request of the National Ambulance Service. Our rapid response vehicle and volunteers are equipped to provide prehospital Critical Care as per the rigorous standards laid down by both the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland and the Prehospital Emergency Care Council.
