Mission Statement

The Eunice-Upendo Project is an Irish registered Charity supporting the Upendo Children’s Rehabilitation Center (UCRC) in Muranga, Kenya. The UCRC was founded in 1997 by Mrs. Eunice W. Kamotho, a local woman who dedicated her life to support orphaned children in the area.

About This Cause

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” Nelson Mandela. You can change the course of a life, help a community and help the world ! You can help orphan girls to defy the odds and continue their education ! Our main aim currently is to raise money for the funding of the secondary school year for orphan girls They have graduated from primary school and passed the national exam that allows them to continue on to secondary school. The Kenyan NGO (UGCR) we support, does not provide its orphans with a secondary education. Consequently, it is essential to send the girls to different secondary schools. Sadly, only 48% of girls in Kenya attend secondary school, among orphans, the statistic drops even further. Upendo provides its 40 orphaned children with a very good education, and please note that Upendo runs as well a primary school for 220 children from poor families. Upendo pupils lead academically in their division and are in the top ten in the district of 63 primary schools! History: Back in 1997, Eunice W.Kamotho, the founder of UCRC the Kenyan NGO we support, decided to act and saved a group of orphans. 20 years later, Eunice managed to lead 24 girls to a secondary education, 7 girls to University and College. Also, 220 local children benefit from an education at Upendo Primary School.
