About This Cause
The NRH Foundation is a registered national Charity focused on raising funds towards specialist projects, equipment and research that helps make a direct difference to the lives of the Children and Adults at the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH), Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, Ireland. Through the generosity of all our Donors and Supporters, we have been able to further enhance the service delivered to the patients of the NRH. Funds received have enabled the replacement of some broken or out-dated equipment, in addition to enabling the purchasing of some new specialised rehabilitation equipment. The NRH Foundation has also provided financial support towards specific new projects and services that enhance the care delivered to this specific patient group. As the only specialised rehabilitation hospital in Ireland, it is vital that the NRH is able to provide the highest level of treatment possible to enable each person the utmost, safest level of independence possible following their injury or illness. The NRH provides a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient specialist rehabilitation services to children and adults who, as a result of an accident, illness or injury, require rehabilitation services in the following areas of specialty: The Brain Injury Programme (including Stroke) The Spinal Injury Programme Prosthetic, Orthotic and Limb Absence Rehabilitation Paediatric Family Centred Rehabilitation. Rehabilitation is a lifelong investment in people, it is an education process of active change by which a person learns the knowledge and skills needed to enable them to once again participate meaningfully in family and community life. The focus of the NRH is to provide treatment programmes dedicated to achieving the highest, safest level of independence possible for each person following their illness or injury. The NRH strives to minimise the impact of a person's disability and optimise their potential, while also helping their families too.
