Mission Statement
DEC has existed in Dun Laoghaire for over 100 years. For most of that time it was a Brethren Assembly known as Northumberland Hall. However, in the late 1980s, the leadership decided that the existing Hall was no longer fit for purpose and that its focus was too restrictive and restricted. So a new site was chosen, existing buildings demolished and a new church constructed at a cost of over €2m. The new Church opened in 1990 and the development costs paid off primarily by the membership but assisted by some grants from Christian Trusts.
