Mission Statement
Samaritans Vision is that fewer people die by suicide. We work to achieve this vision by making it our mission to alleviate emotional distress and reduce the incidence of suicide feelings and suicidal behaviour.
About This Cause
The Cork Branch is one of the busiest Samaritan centres in Ireland. It is also the second largest. The Cork branch opened its doors September 1972 and now has 200 active volunteers of all ages from college students, middle aged to retired people. Every year the Cork branch receive approximately 60,000 calls, with over 1000 people calling to the centre. We are here 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
