Mission Statement

Killester Basketball Club's mission is to provide access to basketball to every child who wants to play, in a safe environment, where they can thrive and grow to love the game.

About This Cause

Killester Basketball Club is a local community-based Basketball Club, which was founded in 1967 and has enjoyed huge success in the arena of Irish Basketball. We welcome children from 5 to 18 years of age who play across 24 youth teams and we have 8 adult teams, 6 playing in Senior Dublin Leagues and 2 playing at Superleague level. Killester Basketball Club is represented on our National teams in every age group. We have over 500 members registered - all playing competitively in Leagues and Cup competitions. Our home court for Senior games is at the IWA (Irish Wheelchair Association) and we play on 4 courts at St Fintan’s Sutton, St David’s Artane, The Donaghies Community School and Árd Scoil Rís on Griffith Avenue. Our Club is run entirely by over 80 passionate volunteers. We embrace diversity and endeavour to give any interested child/adult the opportunity to enjoy Club Basketball. All monies raised through fundraising, sponsorship and donations are used to support the Club’s activities and to upgrade our facilities to enhance the basketball experience for our members
