Mission Statement

The Israel Center on Addiction and Mental Health was established in 2018 in order to advance the field of addiction prevention and mental health in Israel. To address this public health issue, the ICAMH, a multidisciplinary center of excellence, aims to advance addiction and mental health research-based treatment, professional training, prevention via resilience enhancement, and active beneficial policy changes. The ICAMH also runs a research-based positive psychology prevention program (PPAP) in schools across Israel.

About This Cause

The Israel Center on Addiction and Mental Health was established in 2018 in order to advance the field of addiction prevention and mental health in Israel. ICAMH is Israel's first integrated institute of addiction and mental health. Addiction is one of the most common health disorders in the world, causing significant physical and mental harm, including increased mortality, and it is a considerable financial burden. In Israel, hundreds of thousands of men, women and adolescents suffer from addiction, across all demographic and socio-economic sectors. In order to address this public health issue, the ICAMH, a multidisciplinary center of excellence, aims to advance addiction and mental health research-based treatment, professional training, prevention via resilience enhancement, and active beneficial policy changes. The ICAMH also runs a research-based positive psychology prevention program (PPAP) in schools across Israel. Furthermore, to address the unique state of mind of children and adolescents, it operates a first-of-its-kind in Israel adolescents clinic.
