At ALYN Hospital Pediatric and Adolescent Rehabilitation Center, we believe that it is every child's right - including children experiencing physical challenges - to have the highest quality of life possible. We therefore provide the tools to every patient and their family so that they can reach their full potential as participants in society.
About This Cause
ALYN Hospital is the only facility of its kind in Israel and is one of the world's leading specialists in the active and intensive rehabilitation of children with physical disabilities, regardless of religion or ethnic background. ALYN Hospital has developed a wealth of expertise over the years in the rehabilitation of children and adolescents experiencing motor, cognitive, communication and behavioral problems resulting from: • Traumatic and acquired brain injury • Spinal cord disorders • Complicated trauma and post-surgical orthopedics • Neuromuscular and genetic disorders • Bone and joint diseases • Severe burns • Childhood cancers • Ventilator dependency • Various feeding disorders • Complicated pain syndromes ALYN Hospital's rehabilitation is based on: • A multidisciplinary and holistic approach • A personalized program for each patient • State of the art medical equipment and techniques Children from all over Israel - and abroad - are treated at ALYN, which provides both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation as well as a variety of support programs and multidisciplinary clinics. ALYN's Innovation Space and our unique state-of-the art Motion Analysis Laboratory, as well as our Virtual Reality room are the latest additions to ALYN's vision of continuously changing the face of rehabilitation. The ultimate aim of ALYN is to habilitate/rehabilitate the youngsters in its care - and their families - and to return them to the community as quickly as possible, having provided them with the skills to function as productive, and where possible, independent citizens. ALYN Hospital is an officially registered non-profit facility and only a portion of every child's care is reimbursed by the Israeli Health Funds or other referring agencies. Consequently the Hospital has to raise funds through donations to bridge the "gap" between reimbursement and the actual costs of the high level multidisciplinary rehabilitation services which are provided to all children. In addition, ALYN has to raise 100% of the costs of the Hospital's development budget including equipment, research and special projects.
