Mission Statement
VEDOGIOVANE ASTI is a no-profit organisation and our mission concerns youngsters (in italian: “giovani”) and the “social and cultural” youth working (“Animazione Socio-Culturale”). Born in the 1998 from a group of professional youth-workers (so called “animatori”), Vedogiovane Asti is a Social Co-operative in which the dimensions of work and voluntary service are both evident and important. The specific of Vedogiovane Asti (as the name says: Vedogiovane is literally See Youngly) are the young people and their rights. So we build projects, carry out activities to answer to the needs of the territory and pay attention to world of the youth. Mainly aims of Vedogiovane Asti are: develop the local community offering a new vision of the youngsters and their needs; spread own knowledge about “Animazione” by working method. This kind of youth work stresses on the group: it is considered an important tool to discover the youngsters’ resources and help them to improve themselves and to acquire new social skills.
About This Cause
Vedogiovane Asti operates in the field of socioeducational projects, as well in socio-assistent services, mainly with minors and we aim at: • setting up projects for social-educational services suche as (doposcuola*, summer centres, aggregation centres like animation for the elderly). [* doposcuola means after-school and refers to an institution or service that provides supplementary lessons, recreational facilities and amusement after school but for us it's more a project based on the new theories and approch of SEL (Socio-Emotional Learning).] • developing specific projects for disabled people, to increase their authonomies and future perspectives • developing intercultural projects and run them. (Consultation and coordination of information desks for migrants, international youth exchanges and project of international exchanges between schools). • managing and animating youthclubs • supporting local municipalities in projects for prevention and integration for Young People and families in socioeconomical disadvantag • To organize brief training process for youth workers of summer centre, international exchanges and workshops, as well for Teachers and Care Givers
