Mission Statement
The GABRIELE ONLUS Association has as its mission the proximity, welcome, hospitality and accompaniment of young people in difficulty. In this context, it promotes projects, initiatives, raises awareness among citizens and institutions on issues relating to youth hardship and situations of marginalization, also offering training and coaching in initiatives to combat / mitigate youth hardship and active citizenship. The spirit that animates the Association and its members is to be alongside and support adolescents who experience profound discomfort, often difficult to classify. "Normal kids, belonging to normal families who suddenly explode with so much poverty". They do not feel needy or dependent on anything and escape both the school and city circuits. In this context are also included those young people who need hospitality, a "home" (Family Homes, Apartment Groups, Communities, experiences of semi-autonomy) where they can heal the wounds of difficult family situations in order to then "put wings again" and start over. In the face of this youth emergency, GABRIELE ONLUS develops a social operation that meets young people, a work of proximity by inhabiting the various formal and informal aggregative environments (schools, bars, discos, squares, shopping centers, etc.). The Association also welcomes young people in aggregative spaces capable of reversing their paths of marginality and deviance, "takes charge" of them by creating a support network around them with a style of tutoring and accompaniment in an individual project of autonomy, updated and competent. GABRIELE ONLUS also pursues its mission in collaboration with the various realities of the territory such as voluntary associations, institutions, universities, schools, companies, religious bodies and all those subjects that share and support the aims and strategies of the Association
About This Cause
The GABRIELE ONLUS Association was founded in 2013. Its objectives are the reception and accompaniment of young people in difficulty, the sensitization of citizens about the problems of young people and situations of marginalization. WHAT DO WE DO - We manage Casa Famiglia SIMPATIA and Casa Famiglia L'ALBERO which welcome up to 16 girls / children aged 12 to 18 who live in situations of serious personal and family discomfort - We have opened a listening desk aimed at young people and adolescents in difficulty that offers psychological support and accompaniment services, training, counseling and guidance - Our volunteers meet the teenagers in their informal meeting places. They listen to them and try to prevent or mitigate uncomfortable situations - We offer support for parenting - We provide training courses for volunteers - We participate in solidarity and neighborhood networks - We promote active citizenship projects and initiatives.
