About This Cause
Saint Charles Lwanga Boystown-Ruai is a Catholic and charitable Institution which was initiated by the American Mr. David Niemeyer as work of mercy. This man infatuated with love of neighbor, had opened his heart to the misery of the street children he had met during his time in Nairobi on the 25 th anniversary celebration of his marriage with his wife Florence. For this purpose, Mr. Niemeyer resolved to sympathize with the misery of this juvenile layer, to which he wanted to give shelter, food and basic education. His love resulted in the Foundation of a house in 1992 that he named "Boys town Africa" and the registration of the Niemeyer Foundation, to provide resources for the functioning of our institution. In May 2015 the Centre was placed under the Congregation of Jesus and Mary for pastoral care, Education and rehabilitating the boys. Our great mission is to show compassion for boys in the institution, give quality Kenyan Education, health care, shelter and clothing, rehabilitation of some who come from streets, pastoral / spiritual care, and development of the center. To ensure holistic growth and development of the boys as the rest of those in society, we are urging well-wishers to help us in all aspects.
