Mission Statement
Refugees are not legally permitted to attend public school in Malaysia. Our charity formed in 2005, when university students from Myanmar found Chin children wandering the streets of Kuala Lumpur. When no one else would help, the students took it upon themselves to teach the kids. Today, over 500 enthusiastic pupils fill our classrooms across 6 schools, Volunteers run our learning centres – they teach, look after day to day operations, and prepare examinations. We give lunch and do medical checking. We run Sports day and End of year Concert as well.
About This Cause
NGO schools for Refugee's living in Malaysia. Our key focus is teaching Chin,Rohingya &Afghan refugee children. We make sure the have access to education so they don’t fall behind and are prepared for school in western countries. We run five learning centres across Kuala Lumpur. Our schools teaches Native Tong, English, science, and maths to 500 students aged between four and seventeen years. While refugees in Malaysia have access to public healthcare, often Chin families cannot afford to pay for these services. And, a lot of our kids are in bad health. Some students have decaying teeth, eyesight issues, and struggle with body coordination and balance. With the help of our amazing volunteers and sponsors, we run check-ups for our students to assess their overall well-being and prevent any further deterioration of their health. We have had dentists, nurses, and optometrists volunteer their time to assess our students and provide care. We also run Craft groups teaching the mothers to sew. We sell what they make in the Markets.
