Mission Statement

Make specialized health care accessible to people, sectors or regions that, due to their vulnerability, make access to these services difficult, as well as implement strategies that allow their access to education and culture.

About This Cause

For just over three years, Toñito was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in our family. Without a doubt it has been a great challenge for all of us as a family, first; although some being health professionals, we ignored the magnitude and impact of these disorders for people who suffer from it, and even something that almost always goes unnoticed, the impact on their families. After understanding and assimilating what autism is, he began another even bigger task, finding the ideal place where he could be formally diagnosed, and after that, looking for another one where he could carry out his therapies. During these years that we have been on the path of autism, we have found several institutions in the sector: private, government and social, where these types of disorders are treated, but we have had two problems, in the government sector there is a saturation of its services, for Therefore, waiting for an appointment for diagnosis and / or treatment would make us lose valuable time to be able to attend Toñito, so we opted for the private and social sector, the problem here was the cost of treatment, however despite the costs of therapies; ranging between 8,000 and 15,000 pesos, we have been able to provide you with such care. During a family meal, the topic of autism came up and with it, questions that raised the whole project: “What happens to poor people who don't even know that their children have autism?”, “How would they do it to be able to treat their children? Therefore, we decided, as a family, to create a project which was intended to serve low-income people and their families. When looking for care or some service for oneself or our family, we always look for it to be the best, under that premise we have based our main idea: "That it be a Center of such quality, where we could entrust Toñito's attention". The road to achieving it has been and will be hard, but we know that we will achieve it based on hard work, and of course, the support of all the people who join this great project. We have the conviction and the objective of creating the National Center for Attention to Autism Spectrum Disorders (CENATEA) which will be created with one main objective: to make available to people in vulnerable situations, a place where they can have access to specialized health care, allowing barriers such as economic one to not be an impediment to accessing said services. The complete project of FUNDABBI's National Center for the Care of Autism Spectrum Disorders (CENATEA) is very ambitious in its scope and depth, however, in order to increase its viability and sustainability over time, it has been divided into the following stages: Stage I: Creation of the "National Center for Attention to Autism Spectrum Disorders, CENATEA". Activities: -Screening for autism spectrum disorders in the center. Rural campaigns to detect autism spectrum disorders. -Creation of personalized treatment plans. -Teaching of Therapies, including Early Intervention based on ABA, Verbal Behavior, Denver Method, Equine therapy, among others. -Training courses for the detection of alarm data for parents, teachers and health system personnel. -Medical and psychological care for patients with ASD and their families. -Awareness campaigns for autism spectrum disorders. Stage II: Creation of the Division of Comprehensive Care for Mental Health. Activities: -Diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders in the population, such as: depression, anxiety, eating disorders and addictions. Stage III: Creation of the Comprehensive Health Care Division. Activities: -Specialized medical services including: mental health, nutrition, pediatrics, geriatrics, cardiology, internal medicine and other disciplines considered to have a high impact on the health of the vulnerable population. -Laboratory and Imaging Center to perform the necessary paraclinical studies in patients. Stage IV: Creation of the Cultural Promotion Division. Activities: -Promotion of cultural activities such as: music, dance, literature, theater, where all the arts are promoted with our patients as main protagonists. During the first years we were spreading and raising awareness about what ASDs are. After a lot of work and great love for this project, we are in stage I of this great project. It's hard; as in any goal that is worthwhile, but we know that now together with all the support that they will give us we can help more and more people with this disorder
