WHAT DO WE DO? We promote rural communities in extreme poverty to achieve sustainability and we spread a culture of social and environmental responsibility among all sectors of society. Our target audience is the rural inhabitants in poverty who, today more than ever, require great support and solutions. Poverty, land erosion, deforestation and unproductivity have left emigration to the United States or illegal activities as the only option. For this reason, GRUPEDSAC gets to the bottom of the problems, offering training and development of skills in the use and construction of eco-technologies, friendly to the environment, whose correct application allows us to achieve self-sufficiency in water, food, housing, energy and waste management. It offers environmental education and contributes to recovering ancient knowledge. Likewise, it applies Permaculture to achieve the recovery, conservation and sustainable use of natural resources. In our projects, infrastructure is installed to satisfy the five basic needs mentioned above, in addition to leaving new knowledge and creating opportunities for local and regional development. In the communities where we work, we also promote the organizational and self-management capacity of people, empowering them to be the authors of their own development. WHERE DO WE DO IT? Directly in the communities and through our two training and demonstration centers of eco-technologies and solutions for the countryside and poverty, which are living models for learning and for understanding the deep meaning of sustainability. Unique in its kind and an international benchmark. WHERE ARE THE TRAINING CENTERS? 1.- The Educational Center for Rural Development (CEDER) is located in Piedra Grande, Huixquilucan, State of Mexico. 2.- The Tonantzin Tlalli Institute, (ITT) at Paraje Bonanza, Ejutla de Crespo, Oaxaca. HOW MANY YEARS HAVE WE WORKING? Since 1987 as a voluntary group and since 1990 as a legally constituted Civil Association. WHO BENEFITS FROM OUR ACTIONS? In particular the rural sector in poverty and in general the whole society. WHY ARE THESE SERVICES IMPORTANT TO THE POPULATION SERVED? • Because real and effective solutions are offered to reduce poverty and end hunger. • Because those who lack water can have it. • Because those who only produce corn and their land is eroded, can restore it and grow healthy and diverse food in small spaces. • Because with training and an increase in your agricultural performance you will be able to develop productive projects and increase income • Because whoever only owns a room without any comfort, can have a decent home by taking advantage of the natural resources of their surroundings. • Because those who do not have light, now know how to use the energy of the sun and the wind, how to reduce smoke emissions that damage their health and pollute the environment. • Because a society without opportunities, alternatives, without knowledge and without information is dependent and apathetic.
