Mission Statement
Operation Smile México A.C., is a non profit organization that provides free surgeries and complementary treatment (dental, nutritional and / or phoniatric) to children, young and adults with cleft lip and / or cleft palate in our country. The organization is part of Operation Smile Inc., a worldwide medical philanthropy organization with presence in 60 countries dedicated to improving the quality of life of low-income children and young people suffering from cleft lip and / or cleft palate. Founded 30 years ago, Operation Smile Inc. has evaluated over 2'000,000 potential candidates for surgery and operated free of charge more than 200,000 LPH patients worldwide with the highest medical quality standards
About This Cause
Operation Smile México is located in Guadalajara, Jalisco. It was legally constituted in 2006 and since that date it has held 40 Missions of Free Cleft Lip and / or Cleft Palate Surgeries in different states of the Country. Through 15 years of work it has managed to evaluate 10,975 patientes and operate on more than 6,000 of them, coming from the 30 states of the country. In Mexico, 1 of every 750 children are born with this malformation. More than 3,300 new cases every year in our country. At Operation Smile we believe that every child deserves to live his life with dignity. For those children who suffer from cleft lip and / or palate or other facial deformity, dignity begins with a smile.”
