Mission Statement
Mission Coherente is there to strengthen the network, to keep everyone on board. That costs a society less energy, time and money than to get someone back on board. That is not only our conviction, research shows that. That is why we are there - together with our volunteers - for everyone who needs it for whatever reason. With our activities, we promote self-confidence and community spirit among the residents of Ouder-Amstel. We contribute to better health and higher well-being of residents. We pay special attention to residents in vulnerable circumstances. Of all the attention that we can give as a welfare organization, they need it the most. So where that fits within our possibilities, we activate them positively: socially, societally, physically and mentally. And where necessary, we help them to the next counter. Not with a push in the back, but with an arm around the shoulder. We can do that because we are a strong and self-confident partner in the chain, the spider in the web.
About This Cause
Creating a Place for Young People Aged 10-18 to Connect The project will be guided by youth workers from Stichting Coherente. To ensure we can organize open sessions in a safe and structured manner, additional youth work hours are required. The idea is to involve the young people themselves in organizing and creating their own space, with a budget available for materials. This approach aims to foster a sense of ownership among the youth. Initially, guidance will focus on setting up and decorating the location. Once the space is ready, the focus will shift to organizing activities for the young people and supporting them with individual questions. We also plan to organize workshops in the areas of sports and culture. Additionally, we aim to involve the youth in policymaking and organizing activities for their peers. We hope to engage adults and parents in establishing the youth center (JOL). Recruiting these volunteers could be a joint effort between youth work and community development initiatives. In the long term, the JOL could also serve as a meeting place for neighbors in the mornings, functioning as a so-called community room.
