Mission Statement
"Educate, Train, Empower" At Moawin Foundation, we believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and creating lasting change. Our mission is to educate, train, and empower underprivileged communities in Pakistan by improving public sector schools, providing vocational training, and delivering essential social services., without any prejudice of religion, gender, ethnicity, or background, ensuring equal opportunities for all. We are particularly committed to women’s empowerment, ensuring that girls have access to quality education and that women receive vocational training to achieve financial independence. Through strategic interventions in education, skills development, and crisis response, we aim to uplift marginalized communities and equip individuals, especially women and youth, with the tools they need to build a better future.
About This Cause
Pakistan is facing a deep-rooted education crisis, with 26.2 million children out of school as of 2021–22, according to Pakistan Education Statistics. An alarming 39% of school-age children are not enrolled in school, with economic hardships being a major barrier to education. Children from low-income families are the most affected, struggling to access even basic learning opportunities. This widespread lack of education traps families in cycles of poverty, limits opportunities, and weakens social and economic progress. Without urgent action, millions of children will remain deprived of the education they need to build a better future. As a registered not-for-profit organization (NPO), Moawin Foundation operates under Section 42 of the Companies Act 2017 in Pakistan and holds the status of an approved NPO under Section 2(36) of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. To further strengthen our capacity, we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Economic Affairs Division of the Government of Pakistan, allowing us to receive funding from national and international donors to support large-scale projects. In December 2023, Moawin Foundation was also recognized as a registered charity in the United Kingdom, expanding our global outreach and fundraising capabilities. Through strategic partnerships with corporate sponsors, government agencies, and international donors, we continue to scale our programs and expand our impact. Core Focus and Mission The core mission of Moawin Foundation is to uplift underprivileged communities in Pakistan through strategic investments in education, skills development, relief efforts, climate change, water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and social services. By focusing on these key areas, the Foundation strives to break the cycle of poverty and create lasting, positive change in marginalized communities. Moawin Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life for those in need by providing them with the tools, skills, and opportunities necessary to thrive and build a better future. Our goal is to ensure that individuals, particularly from marginalized and vulnerable backgrounds, are equipped with the necessary resources, training, and education to overcome barriers and achieve a sustainable livelihood. We believe that by empowering individuals, especially women and youth, we can create a ripple effect of positive change, lifting entire communities out of poverty and creating a future full of opportunities for all. Strategic Partnerships and Collaborations Over the years, Moawin Foundation has developed a robust network of strategic partnerships with local and international organizations, government agencies, and businesses. These collaborations have enabled the Foundation to implement a wide array of impactful programs and reach thousands of individuals across Pakistan. The Foundation is deeply committed to fostering long-term relationships that enhance community resilience, improve educational outcomes, and drive development on a sustainable basis. Our collaborations with the Punjab Education Fund, Sindh Education Foundation (SEF), the Economic Affairs Division of the Government of Pakistan, and international entities like the Central Asia Institute (CAI) have significantly contributed to the scaling of our programs. These partnerships enable us to mobilize resources, implement large-scale projects, and create impactful change in communities across the country. Key Programs and Initiatives Moawin Foundation has made significant strides in improving education, skills development, and community welfare across Pakistan, with a particular focus on marginalized communities. The Foundation's journey began in Sheikhupura, where it adopted seven government schools, upgrading infrastructure, providing missing facilities, training teachers, and introducing digital learning tools. This initiative resulted in higher enrollment rates and improved learning outcomes. As the Foundation expanded, it adopted schools in Jhelum, KPK, Nankana, Multan, and Chakwal, focusing on enhancing the quality of education by addressing teacher shortages, incorporating digital learning methods, and increasing community involvement. In Islamabad, Moawin collaborated with the Federal Directorate of Education to improve education standards, introduce Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) kits, and provide clean drinking water and digital classrooms. Additionally, Moawin Foundation has launched various vocational training programs, empowering over 2,300 individuals, particularly women, in skills like IT, carpentry, motor mechanics, and entrepreneurship. These programs have led to over 76% of participants becoming self-employed, with many reporting an increase in household income. The Foundation's efforts extend beyond education and skills development, as it has provided disaster relief to over 1,000 families affected by floods, distributed food and clothing during crises, and organized climate change awareness programs, reaching over 15,000 students. Moreover, the Foundation has made a significant impact on water access, installing over 2,400 handpumps and Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants, benefiting over 375,000 individuals and promoting better health and hygiene. Moawin Foundation continues to uplift communities by providing the resources and opportunities necessary for sustainable growth and development.
