Mission Statement
To initiate a movement to skill the literate and semi-literate. Creating a new cadre of skilled Pakistanis with internationally recognized technical capabilities, thereby opening up a new world of opportunities. To be a self-sustainable model through: 1. Providing marketable skills that are internationally accredited, which will help to provide the image of the trades in society. 2. Providing customer-oriented and industry-specific skills. STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES 1. To help alleviate poverty by creating breadwinners. 2. To provide school leavers and other young adults who have limited or no access to higher education with opportunities to advance in professional careers/business. 3. To impart technical training “with a difference” in quality of skills, as well as imparting ethical, social, and moral values. 4. To address the issue of skills shortages being experienced by industries worldwide. The strategic aim for THF is to align its vision with its goal, which is to train, certify & empower more than 100,000 young men & women annually by 2030, with advanced vocational and technical skills. This will not only transform them into bread-earners but will also enable them to gain employment locally & globally.
About This Cause
The Hunar Foundation (THF) is a leading non-profit organization in Pakistan, dedicated to bridging the skills gap and empowering young people with the technical expertise and life skills needed for successful careers. Founded by a passionate group of individuals with extensive experience in education and social welfare (including The Citizens Foundation, The Indus Valley School of Arts and Architecture, The Kidney Centre, Karachi Relief Trust, Chal Foundation, and the Indus Hospital), THF envisions a "Skilled Pakistan" where youth are well-rounded individuals equipped to contribute to the country's socio-economic development. Our Mission THF offers high-quality, internationally recognized vocational training programs designed to meet industry requirements and ensure graduates are highly employable. With over 34 courses ranging from conventional technical skills to cutting-edge IT and industrial trades, THF caters to diverse career aspirations. Beyond Technical Skills: A Holistic Approach THF takes pride in its holistic training model that goes beyond technical skills development. Our programs emphasize personal and professional development through: Over 34 vocational courses: From traditional trades to cutting-edge IT and industrial skills, THF offers a comprehensive range of programs. Industry-aligned curriculum: Our courses are developed in collaboration with industry experts to ensure graduates possess the most in-demand skills. Holistic development: We go beyond technical training, providing soft skills development, career counseling, and project-based learning to foster well-rounded individuals. Internationally recognized certifications: Our programs are certified by government-mandated bodies, enhancing graduates' job prospects. Soft Skills Training: Complementing technical knowledge, THF offers soft skills training in communication (including English language proficiency), personality development, career counseling, basic computer literacy, professional dressing, and sports education. Safety and Compliance: Trainees learn to handle tools and machinery safely, adhering to international standards. Experiential Learning: Project-based learning allows trainees to combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills and creativity, fostering teamwork and problem-solving abilities. Investing in the Future: Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) THF recognizes the value of experienced professionals. Our RPL program allows them to gain official certification through refresher training and assessment, ensuring their skills are current and aligned with the latest HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards. This creates a valuable pool of qualified candidates readily available for recruitment. A Network of Excellence: THF Institutes and Alumni THF operates a network of 13 successful training institutes across Pakistan, with plans for further expansion.
