About This Cause
The Bukidnon Community Health Care Center (BCHCC) (An institution owned and managed by Mindanao Foundation for Medical Disaster Preparedness and Response, Inc.) In October 2018, after 25 years, the Committee of German Doctors ceased its funding and management to one of its pioneering infirmaries, the Bukidnon Community Health Care Center in Valencia City. This opened an opportunity for Mindanao Foundation to take over and commit to continuing the noble mission of the infirmary to the indigenous people of Central Mindanao. With the progress of one of the institutions in the Southern Region, BCHCC now provides an anchor to Mindanao Foundation’s vision of health care delivery system. Geographically, almost 80% of the indigent population live in Pantaron range which lies at the borders of Southern Mindanao and crosses to three more regions of Mindanao. Furthermore, along the border is Mount Apo and its mountain ranges which stretches to the provinces of Far-South Mindanao which is also the home of the Bagobo, Matigslaog, Tboli, and Blaan tribes. Valencia City is situated at the heart of the island where all other regions are connected. The Bukidnon Community Health Care Center has been serving the indigenous people and has been a strong partner of grassroots health workers in strengthening the health condition of the poorest sectors of the region. As 2019 began, the BCHCC opened a new chapter for another 25 fruitful years, now with the guidance of Mindanao Foundation. Foundation Credo: Compassion to serve. Commitment to care. Courage to lead.
