About This Cause

The political changes that took place in Poland about 30 years ago caused thousands of people to lose their jobs. The consequences of these changes are still visible today - over 30,000 people in Poland do not have a home. The establishment of the St. Padre Pio Charities is related to the Krakow Monastery of the Capuchin Brotherhood. At the end of the 90s, many poor people who did not have a job or a home came to the monastery for food. With these people in mind, in 2004 the St. Padre Pio Charities was founded. How do we help? Currently, the Charities takes care of over two thousand people. The St. Padre Pio Charities runs two specialized Support Centers in Krakow. People without a home can receive her an immediate emergency support - use the laundry, bath and dressing rooms, as well as specific support specialist - social worker care, job search-assistance, psychological consultations and the possibility of starting psychotherapy. Additionally, the St. Padre Pio Charities runs nine supported and sheltered apartments, where several dozen homeless people learn self-reliance again. The St. Padre Pio Charities support is comprehensive and always adapted to the needs of a specific person. Thanks to such help, many people without a home can manage to change their lives for the better: find a job, rebuild relationships with the family, or rent the first apartment in years. Join us! Join us and help change the lives of people without a home!
