Mission Statement
The Association's main mission is to implement projects that provide assistance and support to individuals in difficulty and their families, by operating this non-profit association in Romania.
About This Cause
A group of simple, heart felted, and dedicated people, who, in 2014 decided to change something within the community of 2nd district, Bucharest - more precisely, a small part of this community, located around the streets: Pantelimon Road, Chisinau Boulevard, Piața Delfinului area, plus adjacent streets. Gradually, over time, with the help of the priests from the Saints Voivodes Gherghiceanu Parish (people who understood and supported this mission), as well as through other means (direct discussions with building administrators, acquaintances, and friends), I have identified, in nearly 10 years of activity, over 70 people in need - "The situation of difficulty is defined as the condition in which individuals, at some point in their lives, due to socio-economic reasons, health issues, and/or circumstances arising from their social environment, have lost or had their social integration capacities limited. We pooled our resources and collected financial aid and goods, and we conceived and implemented ongoing monthly support projects for those in need, as well as occasional projects, where we donated: • Gifts in the form of handmade floral arrangements created by the community, food, and technical equipment necessary for the specific activities of the Palliative Care Center of St. Nectarios – which operates under the Joy of Helping Foundation; • Toys and special food for the children at Fundeni Hospital, Pediatrics Department (pediatric oncology); • Toys and special food for the children at the Maria Family-Type House, which operates under the Foundation for Children in Difficulty (formerly the Specialized Center for Children with Profound Disabilities, St. Margaret)." Starting in 2024, with the expansion of the number of beneficiaries and the increasing need for assistance/support for centers, against the backdrop of an unfavorable socio-economic climate (huge price increases for food and non-food products, energy, and other services, which have collectively worsened and impoverished daily living), the need to access funds from legal entities naturally arose. In this context, the association 'We Do It! From People, For People' was established.
