Mission Statement
To uplift vulnerable children, youth and mothers by ensuring access to food, healthcare, education, and economic opportunities for a healthier, more self-reliant future.
About This Cause
Inspired by the Biblical principle found in James 2:17, “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead,” and ‘’Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.’’ Luke 6, 36; Faith in Action Foundation is committed to transforming lives through practical support, love, and compassion. Faith in Action Foundation is a dedicated non-profit organization passionately committed to supporting vulnerable children (especially orphans and street children) and single mothers (focusing on widows) from low-income families in Rwanda. Established with a clear vision to create sustainable positive impacts, we strive to enhance the quality of life, health, and economic stability of families experiencing hardship. Core values are: Compassion, Integrity, Empowerment, Sustainability, Collaboration and Respect. Considering FIA Foundation vision that is ''Hope and dignity for every child and mother'', our primary mission revolves around four critical areas: access to food and nutrition, healthcare, education, and economic empowerment. Recognizing the interconnected nature of these challenges, we provide comprehensive, holistic support that addresses immediate needs and fosters long-term development and resilience within communities. Access to food, Nutrition and Health Initiatives: Malnutrition significantly affects the developmental potential of children and the overall health of mothers. No child shall go to bed with hunger. Faith in Action Foundation actively combats this critical issue by ensuring that nutritious food is consistently accessible to the most vulnerable groups, particularly young children and pregnant or nursing mothers. Our nutrition programs include the distribution of balanced meals, educational sessions on nutrition, health insurance coverage support, maternal health check-ups, immunization campaigns, school feeding program and the establishment of sustainable community gardens that empower families to produce their own nutritious food. Our healthcare programs encompass comprehensive medical services tailored specifically to the needs of children and single mothers. We facilitate regular medical check-ups, vaccinations, prenatal and postnatal care, and essential health screenings. Additionally, recognizing the financial barriers faced by low-income families, Faith in Action provides health insurance support to ensure that medical care remains accessible, affordable, and timely. Mental health and emotional support are equally prioritized in our approach. Our professional counselors offer personalized support to mothers and children, addressing issues ranging from emotional stress and trauma to familial challenges. This psychological support is essential in creating stable, nurturing environments for children to thrive. Children and youth Education and Development: We strongly believe that education is the cornerstone of societal progress and economic stability. Faith in Action Foundation invests in early childhood education programs designed to stimulate young minds, foster curiosity, and enhance cognitive, emotional, and social skills from the earliest stages of development. Our nursery schools and early childhood development (ECD) centers are equipped with trained educators and educational resources specifically designed for young learners. We provide inclusive and equitable educational opportunities, ensuring children and youth from low-income families are also included and receive a quality education that lays a solid foundation for lifelong learning. Our educational programs extend beyond learning achievements; they also cultivate life skills, resilience, creativity, Rwandan cultural values, spiritual and physical development. Additionally, we support street children and activities focus on rescue and safe shelter, access to food, healthcare, and education, as well as psychosocial support and vocational training. Family tracing and reunification efforts, life skills development, and legal protection are also essential. Community engagement, mentorship, and recreational activities help reintegrate children into society, while ongoing follow-up ensures long-term stability and personal growth. Economic Empowerment: Economic stability is pivotal in breaking the cycle of poverty. Faith in Action Foundation emphasizes empowering vulnerable families economically, enabling them to provide sustainable support to become independent. Through vocational training, financial literacy courses, and entrepreneurship workshops, mothers acquire essential skills and knowledge to secure meaningful employment or start their own small businesses. Our economic empowerment initiatives also include micro-financing opportunities through children's investment fund, fostering a culture of saving, investment, and long-term financial planning. These programs are tailored specifically to the needs and potential of women and youth, enhancing their ability to achieve economic independence and resilience. Mental Health and Social Well-being: Mental health and social well-being for children and single mothers involve ensuring emotional stability, supportive relationships, and a sense of belonging. For children, it means growing up in a safe, nurturing environment that fosters resilience and healthy development. For single mothers, it includes access to emotional support, community networks, and resources to cope with stress and fulfill their roles with confidence. Supporting their mental and social well-being helps build stronger families, break cycles of poverty, and promote healthier, more empowered communities. Community Engagement and Partnerships: We recognize that meaningful impact can only be achieved through active community engagement and robust partnerships. Faith in Action Foundation works closely with local community leaders, governmental agencies, schools, healthcare providers, and other non-profit organizations. This collaborative approach ensures the alignment of resources, maximizes impact, and fosters sustainable community-driven solutions. Our community engagement initiatives encourage volunteerism, local leadership development, and community-led problem-solving. We actively involve community members in identifying needs, developing strategies, and implementing solutions, promoting ownership, and ensuring the sustainability of our interventions. Long-Term Vision and Sustainability: Faith in Action Foundation is deeply committed to creating sustainable, lasting impacts using various strategies including the children’s investment fund. The Children’s Investment Fund (CIF) is designed to create a sustainable financial system that supports children from low-income families. The fund aims to ensure long-term security for vulnerable children by generating income through investments, donations, and community-driven initiatives. Our programs are meticulously designed to transition communities from dependency to independence through strategic capacity-building initiatives. By equipping families with the necessary skills, resources, and knowledge, we aim to foster self-reliance, dignity, and confidence within the communities we serve. We also continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our programs, adapting and refining our approaches based on feedback, data, and community insights. This commitment to continuous improvement ensures the relevance and effectiveness of our initiatives in addressing evolving community needs. Future Goals and Expansion: Looking ahead, Faith in Action Foundation is dedicated to expanding our reach and deepening our impact across Rwanda. Our vision includes replicating our successful programs in other vulnerable regions, ensuring more families benefit from our comprehensive support system. Our goal is to reach 4,000 children and at least 2,500 families within the next five years. We aim to innovate our services continuously, incorporating best practices and new technologies to enhance the quality and accessibility of our interventions. By 2030, we envision significantly reducing malnutrition, enhancing healthcare access, improving educational outcomes, and increasing economic stability among thousands of families. Our goal is not only to improve lives but also to inspire communities and stakeholders to collectively build stronger, healthier, and more prosperous societies. Call to Action: Faith in Action Foundation invites supporters, donors, volunteers, and partners to join us in making a tangible difference. Together, we can foster healthy, educated, and economically resilient families capable of contributing positively to the socio-economic growth of Rwanda. Join us in our mission to bring lasting hope and transformative change to those who need it most.
