Mission Statement
Our mission in the association "Together for a new life" stems from a deep commitment to educating the community about the crucial importance of transplantation and organ donation. We believe that information is the key to increasing the number of consents for organ donation, which directly contributes to the increase of successful organ and tissue transplants in our country. Through our activities, we not only aim to spread awareness about organ donation, but also to create an atmosphere of understanding and support towards all persons who are directly or indirectly affected by the transplant process. We believe that joint work and continuous education is the key way to achieve our vision - that every individual waiting for an organ transplant gets a chance for a new life.
About This Cause
The association is one big family that brings together a large number of transplant patients, patients waiting for organ transplantation and hemodialysis patients. We are all working together to improve the position of this group of patients in every sense, and above all we are trying to ensure that all of them are recognized in society and recognized as a social category. Through our activities, we try to raise citizens' awareness of the importance of organ transplantation and donation through positive examples of organ transplantation and human stories and destinies. We especially try to make childhood as easy as possible for children from this group of patients through organized trips to the theater, purchases of necessary school supplies, New Year's gifts and more. All our work is aimed at helping and supporting all patients from this group, and we especially try to ensure that these patients have good psychological help and support from professionals, because it is very difficult to wait for an organ transplant in Serbia, because the number of donors is very small and the patients waiting for transplantation for a very long time. Doctors from the field of transplant medicine participate in the forums that we organize, who try to answer all the patients' questions and instruct them on how and in what way to improve their health. It is especially important for us that the dialysis centers are in good condition and that they are as well equipped as possible with good beds, mattresses, and above all with the latest generation machines.
