About This Cause
Caritas Spis/Spišská katolícka carita is the largest provider of social services and health care in Slovakia, both in residential and outpatient form; we care for terminally ill children and adults in our hospices. In addition, in accordance with its statutes, it provides the general public with educational, counseling and ethical advisory services & psychological councelling. Work with children and youth, in fully inclusive facilities, as well as lifelong learning in social & health care and cooperation on projects in the field of science and research also belong to her activities. We also run sheltered and creative workshops in daycare centers (for the mentally and physically handicapped) and formational activities, especially in marginalized communities. The public perceives us as a church-established organization helping the needy and refugees or through food& medicine distribution and humanitarian aid in Ukraine & Syria.
