Mission Statement
In Rafiki Projects for Development we fight to reduce inequalities by working to improve the life quality of the most vulnerable groups, mostly children, disabled people, elderly and women at risk of exclusion.
About This Cause
We are an NGO who works since 2015 in Leganga (Arusha), in northern Tanzania. Our main goal is to analyze necessities of vulnerable groups in the area (mainly children, elderly, diabled people and women) and find solutions by designing and implementing projects thanks to the support of donors and both local and international volunteers. Blue Sky Primary School started with 15 children, and there's now more than 700 who otherwise wouldn't have had easy access to eduaction. In our social center for adults Mji Mwema we share knowledge about different topics such as hygiene, sexual health, accounting, hairdressing, etc. so individuals can both attend the courses as well as teach others. We have also built a small school called Joy of the Kids, and thanks to our small group of seamstresses many women have been trained in order to have a decent job. During the COVID19 pandemic we have distributed basic needs in the area. We are already thinking and designing future projects, but in order to implement them we need your support!
