Mission Statement

Fundación Aladina, www.aladina.org, is a Spanish non-profit organization founded in 2005, dedicated to helping children and teenagers with cancer as well as their families. Our objective is to ensure they have the best possible quality of life.

About This Cause

Aladina aims to improve the quality of life of children and teenagers with cancer and their families. We believe in giving equal importance to physical, spiritual and emotional well-being. In order to do this, we provide psychological, emotional, and material support to the pediatric cancer patients and their families as well as to the hospitals we collaborate with. Currently Aladina, works in 13 public hospitals in Spain and we reach more than 1500 children and teenagers each year. Designed to target specific times and aspects of the disease, Aladina offers a great variety of programs (in and out of hospital) to ensure kids and families have the best possible care throughout the process. Our extraordinary team become a source of support and friendship during the illness. All patients and families have access to psychological counseling by one of our team of 6 professionals. Physical exercise, play, music and pet therapies, golf lessons for patients and yoga sessions for parents…we are constantly in search of the best and most effective ways in which to make hospital stays shorter and more fun. In the summers 250 Spanish children get to spend a magical week at a special camp for kids with cancer, completely free of charge. However, our support extends beyond the families. We finance annual scholarships for young physicians interested in expanding and enhancing their education in the field of Pediatric Onco-hematology, support pediatric cancer research and make important renovations and construction in public hospitals such as the construction of a top-notch ICU in the Hospital Niño Jesús and a bone marrow transplant center amongst many others.
