Mission Statement
Stockholm City Mission is a non-profit organization dedicated to building a more humane society for everyone. We achieve this by providing vital social care, education, and job integration services. Since our founding in 1853, we've been steadfast in our mission to support the most vulnerable members of our community. Our mission, when it comes to individuals, is to see, alleviate, and transform. Our mission, concerning society, is to challenge, complement, and engage. We're not just offering temporary fixes; we're creating lasting change. Join us in building a society where everyone thrives. A more humane society for all. That's a society where everyone has the power to shape their own lives. Where access to housing, education, and employment is a given. Where love and warmth are felt by all. When more people experience the power to influence their own lives and are given the opportunity to participate in society – that's when society becomes more humane for everyone.
About This Cause
Outreach Team: Our Outreach Team works daily, year-round, on streets, squares, in subways, and parks to reach those living in homelessness. They also connect individuals to Stockholm City Mission's other services, such as meeting places and daily activities for men and women experiencing acute homelessness, with the goal of finding long-term solutions that lead away from homelessness and towards more stable housing situations. Day Centers: Stockholm City Mission offers open day centers where the focus is partly on alleviating distress by providing basic needs such as food, showers, laundry, and rest facilities. Our emergency shelters are aimed at adults experiencing acute homelessness. We provide support from case workers and social counseling with the goal of strengthening individual empowerment, contributing to positive changes, and improving living situations. Meetingplaces Our meeting places in Hässelby, Vårberg, Mariatorget, and City offer safe spaces for community and support, open weekdays year-round. We provide essential needs, food, activities, and counseling to adults and children. We also offer Saturday opening hours for families with children. BoKlara: A Sanctuary of Hope and Empowerment for Women BoKlara is a place where women facing abuse and homelessness find not just relief, but the strength to rebuild their lives. BoKlara is that sanctuary. We offer more than just essential resources; we provide a pathway to transformation. BoCenter A place that offers not just immediate relief, but a pathway to lasting change for adults facing acute homelessness. BoCenter is that lifeline. Stenfasta: We arrange free camps for children, teenagers, and families at Stenfasta in Sörmland. Camp spots are limited and reserved for participants in our children's and youth activities. The goal is to offer every participant a camp opportunity each year. Bostället: Bostället is an assisted living for people experiencing homelessness.
