About This Cause

AMPLIFYING FIRST NATION LEADERSHIP VOICES FOR CLIMATE REGENERATION IN THE ECUADORIAN AMAZON RAINFOREST AND BEYOND. Our operations are the antidote to threats facing the Amazon and its indigenous communities, including deforestation, illegal mining, and climate change. "Although First Nations comprise less than 5% of the world’s population, they protect 80% of the earth’s biodiversity. This is clear proof that the best equipped to protect the Amazon are those that come from within." WWF (2020, October 22). RECOGNIZING INDIGENOUS PEOPLES' LAND INTERESTS IS CRITICAL FOR PEOPLE AND NATURE. World Wild Life. Hence, our proceeds go directly to the Living School of the Amazon: The school rains the next generations of leaders of the Ecuadorian Amazon. The School trains leaders rooted in their Indigenous ethical values and cosmovision to foster autonomous territorial leadership and influence global transformation, resulting in a regional youth leadership training network alongside a planned Escuela Viva in Peru to usher an Amazonian 2030 vision for change throughout the bioregion. The School facilitates leadership development for young people who are the future stewards of this vital bioregion.
