About This Cause
Over our 25-year history, we have supported more than 10,000 people with mental health problems through meaningful life transitions, with 1 in 3 people who access our employment services achieving sustained work. Our services can be divided into: • Services for clients: supporting individuals to become self-responsible, financially independent, have a sense of purpose and engaged with others and their community. We achieve this through 1-2-1 and group interventions, individually tailored support and coaching and mentoring. • Support for employers: helping business owners and managers to positively address mental health at work and recruit and retain staff with mental health problems as effectively as possible. In 2016, Twining was recognised as one of 17 IPS Centres of Excellence for the delivery of our employment services. The first non-NHS provider to be awarded this status. In 2017, we were recognised as one of London’s most innovative charities in mental health and were awarded support from the Social Business Trust, with the likes of Thomson-Reuters, Bain & Co and Ernst & Young assisting us to develop first-class operations. Equal Opportunities and Diversity Leader Twining is a diverse organisation attuned to and representative of the diverse beneficiaries we support: • 52% of Twining’s staff come from a BAME background. • 32% of Twining’s staff have a disability. • 65% of Twining’s staff are female. • 62% of Twining’s clients come from a BAME background. • 70% of clients on our large flagship IPS Works project come from a BAME background and we have created innovations to increase BAME engagement on the project by 40%. • 8% of Twining’s clients identify from LBGTQI groups. The future Twining is a well-established charity and social enterprise with a fine track record of helping Londoners from all backgrounds with mental health problems sustain meaningful work. With mental health and employment challenges on the rise as a result of COVID-19 and particular groups affected more than others, we are ideally placed to support recovery efforts across London to help those in need access first-class employment and mental health support and rebuild their lives.
