Mission Statement
Mental Health Resource offers our local community free mental health support for as long as is needed, and provides wellbeing tools and the opportunity to connect with others. We improve mental health and wellbeing and build a more supportive community across Kent.
About This Cause
"Mental Health Resource is a sanctuary for the confused, the difficult and the lonely. It stops me getting isolated and keeps me on the straight and narrow". Richard, Client. Mental Health Resource is a local, independent charity providing residents in West Kent with free unlimited mental health support, tools and the opportunity to with connect others. We are one of the few organisations in West Kent providing comprehensive services with both a focus on short term and long-term mental health support as our clients require long term support for complex, enduring mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, self-harming, psychosis, schizophrenia and bipolar. Clients can access our projects for as long as they need; all services are completely free and include: • A wellbeing 'Hub' for adults providing wellbeing activities such as creative writing, an allotment, arts groups and talking groups. • Fun and creative groups for teenagers aged 13-19 years old • Confidential, self-help support groups which focus on wellbeing and recovery. • Confidential advocacy service across East Kent for those who are detained (“sectioned”) under the Mental Health Act 1983 or subject to certain of its provisions in the community. By supporting us with a donation via the Benevity Causes Portal, you will be helping to actively promote mental wellbeing in our community and helping us reach more clients who are isolated from the community. Specifically: • £5 could provide a 1-1 support telephone call for someone who feels isolated. • £10 could enable 1 person to attend a 1.5 hr support session to help them learn from others' experiences. • £20 could provide a dedicated 1-1 support session for 1 person for 1 hour. • £100 could enable 1 person to attend a short course providing them with tools to manage their mental health. • £200 could provide face to face mental health support for 10 people. • £500 could provide weekly face to face support for 2 people for 3 months. • £1500 could fund the delivery of a short mental health training course and materials for up to 15 people. Thank you for your support, Mental Health Resource
