Mission Statement
We believe that every being has a right to live and to live life without fear. Thus, it is our mission to create a safe environment to last as a forever home to animals who need it, one where they don’t have to work or provide for us. One where they can just be what they are and do as they please. It is important to us that Jacobs Ridge is not just a sanctuary for animals, but for humans also. In connecting with the animals, nature and at the same time following a vegan lifestyle, we aim to create a space where people can find inner harmony and reconnect with themselves. We wish to further improve the lives of our rescue animals and offer a permanent home to more in need by securing and expanding the site of Jacobs Ridge. At the same time, we will educate those who need it on the exploitation of animals so that more animals can live life without fear. It is our aim to create and grow an organisation of unity. To assist those sanctuaries and animals in need.
About This Cause
Jacobs Ridge CIC was set up in 2017 and was created to provide financial support to sanctuaries and animals in need throughout the world. By way of various fundraising activities, Jacobs Ridge CIC has created a small fund from which it can distribute financial assistance. For example, Rocky was a small stray dog in Spain who was hit by a passing car. He was found in the street and taken to a local vets. It was established that the dog had suffered a shattered pelvis and broken legs. It was possible to fix him but it was expensive. The person who rescued the dog contacted us and we were able to provide the financial means for his surgery and the introduction to one of the top bone specialists in Spain we also used our network to locate a suitable forever home for him. Rocky now lives the life of luxury with a Spanish family and is fully recovered. This is just one story of how the Jacobs Ridge CIC makes a difference. Jacobs Ridge CIC also provides transport assistance, veterinary care, legal advice and hands on help when needed. Jacobs Ridge CIC is not a “boardroom” charity with many executives to pay for. It is managed by Julian Nicholson along with his partner, Rachael Wheeler who have many years experience in operating animal sanctuaries and rescue centres. Jacobs Ridge CIC is growing stronger year on year and we are seeking support to help us reach more animals in need.
