Mission Statement

Our mission is to ensure that people who suffer from mental health problems have the right to be productive, acheive their goals and be respected as co-workers, neighbours and friends

About This Cause

Mosaic Clubhouse is an award-winning charity that has been successfully supporting people with their mental health recovery since 1994. We provide opportunities for people in Lambeth with severe and often enduring mental health problems, to regain the confidence and skill necessary to lead productive and satisfying lives. Each year we support over 500 members to have a better quality of life by increasing their engagement and participation in the wider community. Mosaic Clubhouse is a powerful demonstration of the fact that people with mental illness can and do lead normal, productive lives. On a daily basis, Members’ work side by side with staff to co-deliver our service and we are deliberately understaffed meaning we rely on the skills, talents, and commitments of our members. By sharing work and adopting a team approach, barriers between the roles of paid staff and people with mental illness are broken down, increasing each member’s sense of connection with others, reducing social isolation and building confidence. Our programmes and services include the following: • Employment programme providing support to get individuals back into the workforce, whether it be supported employment or competitive employment enabling our members to gain confidence and secure work. Our unique Transitional Employment Programme (TEP) acts as a steppingstone to the competitive workforce. • Education Programme assisting members to continue their continue education through a programme of courses and workshops across the year - including formal education as well as new life and basic IT skills development. • Young adults programme supporting 16 – 30 year olds with an existing mental health condition, and those who without preventative support are at risk of developing poor mental health at this crucial stage in their lives. • Evening Sanctuary Crisis Service offering support to those experiencing a mental health crisis between 6pm and 2 am, when most other services are closed. • Information Hub for Lambeth residents requiring rapid support, signposting and onward referral to a range of organisation, including those specialising in housing, wellbeing and benefits. By offering a non-judgemental, safe working environment Mosaic becomes a welcoming place for individuals to develop their skills and interests - somewhere where they are needed and valued, where being part of a community provides a sense of belonging and meaning. This allows individuals to improve their wellbeing, foster more positive relationships and build trust, have increased belief in their own strengths and potential and develop increased interpersonal and work-related skills. Mosaic Clubhouse is therefore an opportunity centre, open to people in Lambeth with a history of mental ill health to become members.
