Mission Statement
DHA offer specialist advice, advocacy and representation for families and individuals facing crisis, to prevent and alleviate homelessness, debt and housing difficulty. We’ll provide you with FREE, independent and confidential services that offer support to the most vulnerable people in our communities; often requiring immediate intervention, support and advice face to face, or via the telephone and leading to resolution via Legal Representation. We also offer accessible training and skills development to a wide range of vulnerable people to help reduce unemployment, and promote social and financial inclusion. We provide effective, specialist advice; advocacy and representation for people that would otherwise not be able to access these services. We secure their basic needs, protect and preserve their legal rights, provide equal access to Justice and seek fairness and dignity for all our clients.
About This Cause
DHA has been around since 1995 and has been successfully delivering contracts, training and consultancy services since then. Our vision is for everyone to have a decent and safe home, to be financially stable, to be healthy and participate in their local community and to have the skills to participate and move into employment. We achieve this vision by providing services which both prevent problems and provide effective, sustainable solutions including: • Preventing and resolving legal issues through specialist Housing & Homelessness, debt and legal advice services, including casework and in court representation. • Improving health and social inclusion through a range of community activities / services, including accredited and non-accredited training and volunteering opportunities. • Work experience, Traineeships, Apprenticeships and employment. • Community Engagement through grassroots engagement from 10 Community Managed Libraries delivering a range of services. Our Training and Communities department delivers training across Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derby and Derbyshire. We have a Training Community Centre based in Ilkeston, a hub in the local community providing a wide range of programmes and courses to suit your needs.
