About This Cause
PDC-UK was formed in February 1999. As a small charity (5 Trustees)’ we are extremely proactive. Other than Educational Literature, Event Fee’s & Equipment PDC-UK provides financial support for continued conservation of Africa’s ‘apex predator’. Our main ‘funding stream’ is through the sale of unique ‘Snare Art’ (wire snares recovered from the ‘bush’) crafted by unemployed local people (from the town of *Dete) into images of Africa Animals, also crafted are Beaded Animals. Artisans are paid a renumeration for each piece made in support of day to day living. *Dete is the location of Iganyana Art Centre (managed by PDC / founded by Wendy Blakeley) Regular donations are received through monthly direct debits.
