YMCA Bournemouth’s mission is to strive to enable people to develop their full potential in mind, body, and spirit. It creates supportive, inclusive, and energising communities where people can truly belong, contribute and thrive.
About This Cause
YMCA Bournemouth works across key areas: Accommodation, Youth Work, Family Work, Health & Wellbeing, Counselling, Training & Education and Support & Advice. Between April 2023 and March 2024, YMCA Bournemouth has made a significant impact in our local community, including: • Supporting and housing 184 individuals • Providing over 54,000 meals • Hosting 1,250 counselling sessions • 1,541 hours of family contact were provided at its Child Contact Centres • 277 families were provided with a dedicated Family Support Worker • 335 children received targeted family support • 419 food support bags were supplied to families in need • Offering 590 hours of support to 75 young disabled people through the Chatterbox project • Engaging over 125 young people weekly in youth clubs • Facilitating over 5,185 days of volunteering through its young volunteers • Serving more than 5,000 members across its leisure establishments As a result, YMCA Bournemouth has provided safe, stable accommodation and essential support to those experiencing homelessness, empowered young disabled individuals to improve their well-being and independence, and engaged disadvantaged youth in meaningful life-skills activities.
