Mission Statement
The MS Therapy Centre’s (NW) overall aim is to enrich the lives of people with Multiple Sclerosis by providing therapies in a caring, supportive and positive setting. The aim of the therapies is to enable our members to have a better quality of life whilst managing their condition. Therapies therefore tackle both physical and psychological symptoms. We are a self-help group and registered charity endeavouring to provide a complete service for MS sufferers all throughout the North West of England, encouraging them to look after themselves and make the best of their lives within the confines of their condition. Our services are open to all neurological conditions, some forms of cancer and varying other conditions. We have an average of 300 active members at any given time of all ages and denominations. We operate a policy of Equality and Diversity at the centre. As well as giving members a positive place to receive alternative therapies, the centre exists as a drop in centre and a community of support to members and their carers in which experiences can be shared and support can be received.
About This Cause
The MS Therapy Centre (North West) is an independent, registered charity centre with around 500 members from across Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside. We provide therapies to those with MS, cancers, neurological conditions and the physical disabilities these conditions lead to. Therapies include Oxygen treatment, counselling, Physiotherapy, complimentary therapies, counselling and chiropody. Our drop-in centre is a hub of support for people with long-term conditions who visit from a large catchment area due to a lack of similar services. We tackle both the physical and the psychological symptoms. Our drop-in centre is a hub of support which reduces social isolation for members, carers and their family and friends who attend the centre. Our therapies encourage members to tackle their symptoms head on and independently at home ,as well as at the centre.
