Mission Statement
CRJS PTA mission is to enrich the childrens' school life through fun social experiences, to create an opportunity for parents to get even closer engagement with the school and teachers and to raise funds in a number of areas that add real value to school life, that would not otherwise be possible.
About This Cause
Crawley Ridge Junior School PTA became a charity in 2003 with the mission to raise funds through exciting events to enhance the children's education and maintain the school and grounds. All parents and teachers attending the school are automatically members of the charity. Throughout the year we hold events for the children to attend in a safe environment, for example school discos and movie nights every term. We hold annual summer and winter fairs and the children, parents and staff are involved in organising stalls. Our charity brings the school community together on occasions like this, to enjoy fun times whilst raising money. We also hold an annual quiz night just for the parents, which is hugely popular. Our annual fun run is a wonderful family day, culminating in a barbecue with fun and games for all involved. All our profits raised at these events are ploughed back into the school for the benefit of the children. This year we have purchased 16 new laptops for use by the children across the curriculum, 8 new tablet devices for each class teacher to assist in tracking progress of each child, lockers for the upper school area and new tables and chairs in an exciting working space for the children, known as The Hub. Previously, in 2016 we purchased a 5m long traverse, double-sided climbing wall which is used and enjoyed a great deal by children and which sits on a large astrosturf area, which was funded for in 2015 to create an outdoor classroom useable all year around. With further funds we hope to provide further laptops [the school has a set of laptops for only 2 of the 8 classes, so our priority is to fund the remainder of these as soon as possible] and new football and netball kit so that our children can proudly represent their school in events with other local schools. It is well documented that primary school budgets have declined in real terms and our school is no exception, which means that important spend in areas that actively benefits the children's outcomes and welfare are increasingly only available via the PTA.
