Mission Statement
We create spaces for Southwark residents to grow and flourish. Through our two dedicated community centres, we work to support and build the capacity of local residents and the wider community to overcome barriers and perceived barriers to success by providing a range of programmes and services for all members of the community.
About This Cause
InSpire is a small, secular community charity, located in the converted crypt of St Peters Church in the heart of Southwark. We have 12 full time members of staff and a turnover of c.£700,000. With these limited resources we run an impressive variety of essential services and projects for Southwark residents, especially the most marginalised groups in society. Our impact is deep and we are a cornerstone of the community. Please check out our website to learn more about our activities. InSpire believes in making the Walworth and Southwark community flourish. Our services are split broadly into our Adult Programme and our Youth Programme. Adult Programme: I.T. classes for the digitally excluded: predominantly older residents who may not have ever used a computer Parenting Group: for young families. Our specialist Advocator works to address their issues Art Group and Women's Group: run by and for retired residents Art and Gardening Project: InSpired to Grow. Open to all residents and largely attended by those with learning difficulties Many other activities from drama to bingo Youth Programme: InSpired to Work: Southwark Council's core youth employment support service for 16 - 25 year olds.
